Day 1: Henry Ford

Identify

When people think about Henry Ford, they usually think about innovation or manufacturing. But that’s not really what made the difference.

Cars already existed, but the shift came from recognizing the product hadn’t fully connected with the people it was meant for.

Ford understood that most Americans wanted something practical that gave them more freedom in how they lived and worked. That insight shaped everything that followed.

The five-dollar workday reflected that thinking. It aligned the business with the reality that the people building the product could also buy it.

That decision changed the trajectory of the company.

Growth often starts with understanding the gap and building around the people on the other side of it.
